Charity Fund Raising Aims & Donations

Chaddesden Jubilee Club has raised money for different charities over many years. This has mostly been raised from bingo games played on Saturday and Sunday evenings in the concert room. Some staggering amounts have been raised amounting to many tens of thousands of pounds. There is usually a theme for the collecting and in the coming weeks this article will be updated with the donations that have been made.

LATEST POSITION AT SEPTEMBER 2016:-

A Telegraph photographer came to the club on Saturday 13 August and a article with photographs was published on Tuesday 16 August – well done all members that took part and to our President Ron Moorhouse for his persistence in gaining this recognition

A Cheque presentation for £21,000 was made to HemiHearts in the Concert room on the evening of Saturday 23 July 2016. this represented the cumulative amount given to them over the 2012/2016 period.

Our President Ron Moorhouse spoke to the members present regarding their generosity and mentioned other charities we had donated to in the past (see below).

From HemiHearts The Chairwoman Wendy Morrisroe and Committee member Caroline Davies were there to accept the cheque and Wendy thanked all the members and told them how they had spent the money and how important the donation was to them.

The presentation was photographed and this will be sent to The Derby Telegraph and hopefully it will appear and give our great club and members some public recognition for their efforts.

Please see photo below of the cheque being presented to the HemiHearts children

Reece Jeffrey Foundation:

This is the local branch of CRY: Cardiac Risk in the Young: see: http://www.c-r-y.org.uk/ web site.

The Derby Branch of this charity was set up by the parents of Reece Jeffrey: Phil, Lisa, Robyn and Chloe Jeffrey lost their beautiful young son and brother on March 12th 2011 while he was playing football for his Chellaston football team at Darley playing fields.

He was just 15yrs old. The tragic loss has not only  had a devastating effect on his family but also his  team players and the other football teams who witnessed this whilst  playing on the park that day and they along with his close school  friends from Landau Forte school were too scared to play football for the fear this may happen to them.

Their aim is to raise funds to enable local cardiac screening of youngsters to be carried out in Derby

Chaddesden Jubilee Club is proud to support this charity for  the coming 12 months.
